We had a wonderful stay at Capitan Max B&B in May 2026! After arriving from San Isabella Island around 10 am, Max graciously accommodated us with breakfast, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. We had booked two rooms for a three-night stay, and from the moment we arrived, we felt right at home.
The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to assist us with everything we needed. While language was a bit of a barrier, translation tools made communication smooth, and they ensured all our requests were met. The rooms were spotless and cozy, making our stay both comfortable and relaxing.
A special shoutout to Max's son, Max Junior, who was exceptionally helpful! He assisted us in booking tours to the Lava Tunnels, El Chato Turtle Reserve, and the Twin Craters, which made exploring the area so much easier and enjoyable.
Overall, Capitan Max B&B felt like a home away from home, and we truly appreciated the warm hospitality. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Galápagos Islands!

Very nice place! Only 6 rooms but they are all nice. Very close to the boat docks and quiet off on a side street. Nice breakfast and bananas whenever you felt like one. Only thing was l thought there were tv’s in the rooms but not there. My mistake. Max and Julio were just super nice people! Just remember when you go to Santa Cruz Island almost all places do not take credit cards. Bring cash!

The location is good, and the room is always well maintained. Whenever we came back at nights, there is always a tea kettle ready for people who like to relax and rest with a cup of tea.
The hosts also offer tour packages if needed. We were happy with the tours and appreciated how they accommodated our last-minute requests with all kinds of questions.
A Family Story Rooted in Galápagos
A family that grew with Santa Cruz
Our family has been part of the story of Santa Cruz Island since its early days. When our parents arrived, the island had very little infrastructure and life was very different from what visitors see today.
They built their life here as Santa Cruz grew, creating a deep connection with the island, its people and its unique way of life.
Today, that connection continues through Capitán Max, where we welcome travelers who come to discover the Galápagos.
